A plunge into the past with the historical re-enactment of the Battaglia delle Chiuse, a famous battle that took place in 773 between Charlemagne's Frankish army and the Lombard troops led by King Desiderio. For the occasion, the town will be transformed into a real medieval village: taverns with flavours of the past, fire shows, juggling, concerts of ancient music, workshops on Longobard daily life and medieval games... The beating heart of the festival will be the citizens of Sant'Ambrogio, who will be enthusiastically and passionately involved in animating the village. Grand finale at 11 p.m. in the church square, where a theatrical performance re-enacting the battle will be staged. Throughout the event, it will be possible to use, as the only currency, the Balengu, minted especially for the event and available at the two customs posts at the entrance to the village.
