Once again in 2024, the Muriaglio Agricultural Workers’ Mutual Aid Society proposes three literary encounters not to be missed on 26 October, 15 and 23 November.
This year the event is entitled ‘Territori d’autore’ (Author’s Territories) and is dedicated to Piedmont and the protagonists of its cultural history.
The opening event will kick off on Saturday 26 October at 3.30 p.m. and will be dedicated to the memory of engineer Renzo Moriondo, an unforgettable protagonist of the hamlet’s cultural history, who passed away a few years ago, and whose research and extraordinary and moving poem ‘Muriaj’, dedicated to the hamlet and its inhabitants, will remain, and will be read during the commemoration, followed by a chestnut party with musical accompaniment.
On Friday 15 November at 9 p.m., great history will be the protagonist with Piero Venesia’s masterpiece ‘Ibleto di Challant il Capitano’, Edizioni Pedrini with an introductory essay by journalist Ezia Bovo.
Saturday 23 November at 5.30 p.m. will feature a volume from the Biblioteca degli Scrittori Piemontesi (Baima-Ronchetti &C Editore). Piervittorio Stefanone will talk about his ‘Storie bizzarre di un dottore in vacche’ (‘Bizarre stories of a cow doctor’): tender and hilarious stories of a veterinary surgeon who has woven a tenacious bond with the animals, large and small, that he has had the good fortune to meet on his journey.
A small convivial moment will conclude the literary presentations.
Each event will be free admission and will take place at the restaurant ‘La Terrazza sul Canavese"
