In the early 1990s, three very different women – Bianca, a young chemist disillusioned by love; Rachele, a visionary grandmother; and Rosita, a child scarred by abandonment – experience the pain of loss against the backdrop of the war in Sarajevo. Through mutual support, imagination, fairy tales and the music of Shostakovich, they seek to transform their suffering into an opportunity for healing and rebirth.
