In Torino, the sixth edition of A Bit of [hi]story, the festival organised by the Piemonte Museum of Computing-MuPIn, is being hosted.
To mark its fifteenth anniversary, the Museum presents Digital Equilibriums: the true story of computing, an exploration of the history of computers, artificial intelligence and sustainability.
The festival opens to the public at the Docks Dora with talks, exhibitions and opportunities for discussion for enthusiasts, families and the curious. Topics include: the role of supercomputers in weather forecasting, the history of Apple and Olivetti, the environmental impact of digital technology, the right to repair, and women’s contributions to computing.
Guests over the weekend include Luca Mercalli, Guido Saracco, Gastone Garziera, Giorgio Garuzzo, Fabio “Kenobit” Bortolotti, Don Luca Peyron and Ugo Vallauri.
On Saturday evening, there will also be a DJ set by Kenobit and a mini Kick-Off tournament.
