The Chocolate and Gianduja Museum and the Stupinigi Hunting Lodge are celebrating Queen Margherita with a day dedicated to her, to mark the centenary of the first Queen of Italia.
The Hunting Lodge is hosting three different events showcasing stories, flavours and music, featuring the historical re-enactors from Le Vie del Tempo, the early music ensemble Gli Invaghiti and specialities from the Pfatisch patisserie.
• Aperitif with the Queen, 11am: following a tour of the Queen’s Apartments, an aperitif with a Savoyard flavour, featuring sweet and savoury specialities from Pfatisch, including vermouth, savoury tastings, ‘Perle della Regina’ and ‘Giandujotti’
• Royal Afternoon Tea, 3.45pm: following a tour of the Queen’s Chambers, the afternoon tea ritual is infused with the atmosphere of a 19th-century court, featuring hot chocolate, biscuits and specialities from Pfatisch, accompanied by tales from the historical re-enactors
• Concert in honour of Queen Margherita, 6.30pm: the day concludes with Gli Invaghiti, conducted by Fabio Furnari, performing Le Stravaganze by Antonio Vivaldi, intertwined with Alessia Giorda’s tales of Margherita’s life, personality and love of the arts. During the concert, visitors will also be able to sample chocolates from the Pfatisch patisserie
A day to step back into the 19th century and, for a few hours, experience the world of a Queen particularly beloved by her people, amidst history, music and the unmistakable flavour of Torino chocolate.
