Combo is hosting the preview of the photographic exhibition Egypt - Nothing But Gold, by photographer Al Salerno.
In 1922, archaeologist Howard Carter exclaimed “Nothing but gold” when asked what he could see through the peephole of a newly discovered tomb: the tomb belonged to Tutankhamun, and the discovery marked the beginning of a new era.
Ten photographs frame the cultural afternoon Expedition to Egypt, designed to showcase Egypt today and, in particular, to showcase the new Egyptian Museum in Cairo, which reopened on 4 November with over 100,000 artefacts, including the entire collection of Tutankhamun's treasure on display for the first time in its entirety, and to show images of the White Desert, closed to tourist routes for over ten years due to security issues.
In the talk, moderated by journalist Chiara Priante, you can listen to the stories of Alberto De Min and Federico Genre, who will talk about today's Egypt, beyond the most famous routes, as well as the voice of photographer Al Salerno.
