The 2026 route marks a return to its roots, starting in the centre of Sestriere, in Piazza Fraiteve, in the heart of Italy’s highest town. The route will allow participants to quickly immerse themselves in the Alpine setting along a largely flat stretch before beginning the descent down the Val Chisone.
A unique Marathon route for MTB and Gravel

Elevation gain: 1.862 metres
A significant change in the first few kilometres of the race: after the start in Sestriere, the route takes riders to Monte Rotta to follow the Gelindo Bordin trail, which overlooks the town of Sestriere, and then descends to Sestriere Borgata via the cycle path. From here, the route returns to the historic route, descending along the Val Chisone to Pourrieres, gradually climbing in altitude through Balboutet and Pian dell’Alpe until reaching the historic heart of the Assietta Legend: the Strada dell’Assietta, to be covered in its entirety before returning to the Gelindo Bordin trail and descending to the finish in Sestriere.
In summary, compared to the 2025 edition, a few kilometres have been added to the route, which is fast and never overly technical, suitable for all off-road riders, whilst the total elevation gain remains unchanged, with only a slight reduction.
