An aspiring comedian works as a barman in a London pub and leads a life marked by frustration and a constant sense of inadequacy. One day, he performs an act of kindness towards a dishevelled and distressed customer by offering her a cup of tea. But, following that gesture, the woman begins to develop a growing and morbid obsession with him, trying to insinuate herself ever more insistently into his life and undermining every aspect of it.
