As part of the initiatives organised by the City of Turin and Opera Barolo to mark the 200th anniversary of the Marquis of Barolo’s appointment as mayor of Turin (1826–1827), MUSLI is presenting a dramatised event focusing on the education of young aristocrats in the late 18th century.
In the splendid rooms of Palazzo Barolo, an actor playing the role of Carlo Tancredi Falletti di Barolo’s tutor will take young and old alike on a journey into the past, allowing them to experience life as the young Marquis’s noble schoolmates, invited to the Palace to celebrate the host’s tenth birthday.
A fun and engaging experience to discover the childhood of a key figure in Turin’s history and to compare the lives of children from the past with those of today, through activities ranging from the rules of etiquette to study, from writing with a quill pen to reciting a fable in Latin, right through to the steps of the minuet.
