Cesana Torinese is hosting ‘Clean Alp: archaeology you wouldn’t expect’

From 19/12/2026 to 10/01/2027
Culture & Tradition

From 19 December 2026 to 10 January 2027, Cesana Torinese is hosting a travelling exhibition on the Clean Alp project, which works to protect our mountains.

The Alps shape the economy and culture of the surrounding countries; preserving the Alpine environment also means preserving human life and the quality of life itself (health, wellbeing, energy, food, water, etc.)

A series of explanatory panels, objects and materials found at high altitudes during hikes over recent years form just part of the exhibition.

CleanAlp has been studying the presence of litter in natural and wild Alpine areas for years: here you can see a summary of the findings, the contrast between the extreme beauty and immense value of these areas and the impact of our presence if we do not pay attention to how we use these places: what we take up, we must bring back down; if we see any litter, let’s pick it up and take it away; always store what we have used with great care (in closed pockets and without any risk of it spilling); use local products.

It really takes very little to enjoy the mountains without leaving a trace!

The Alps give us life; we give them care in return.
