Concert by the City Band. A unique opportunity to embark on a musical journey through different eras, genres and styles: like a refined cocktail, the concert is a fascinating blend of sounds, where original pieces, transcriptions of classics and famous soundtracks come together to pay homage to significant authors and anniversaries.
And it is also an ideal opportunity to discover, or rediscover, the charm of the great wind orchestra in one of Canavese's most evocative settings: the theatre dedicated to Giuseppe Giacosa.
The programme includes a selection of compositions by Vincenzo Bellini, Camille Saint-Saëns, Augustin Lara and Franco Cesarini; special attention is given to extraordinary transcriptions of famous film and videogame soundtracks. There will also be a tribute to Teresa Procaccini - a living Italian composer, author of interesting pages for band that recall the symphonic swing of the 1930s and 1940s - and to the Turinese jazz musician, pianist and composer Palmino Pia.
All will be conducted by Maestro Alessandro Data.
