There is music that can give voice to what words cannot express.
In the run-up to Christmas, the music of Bach and Schubert meets one of Piedmont’s most evocative settings, creating an evening in which great sacred music intertwines with the history and millennia-old charm of the Abbey, which hosts the Christmas Concert featuring the Corale Lirica Ambrosiana of Milan, conducted by Maestro Roberto Ardigò, and the European Philharmonic Orchestra of Gallarate, under the baton of Maestro Marcello Pennuto.
The programme brings together two masterpieces of intense expressiveness: J. S. Bach’s Cantata No. 4, from the Christmas Oratorio, and F. Schubert’s Mass in G major, D 167. Two compositions that differ in style and sensibility, yet are united by their ability to elevate the listening experience and strike a deep chord in the human soul.
Giving voice to these works are the soprano Cristiana Faricelli, the tenor Alessandro Tamiozzo and the bass Marco Gazzini.
The architecture of the Abbey, the solemnity of the space and the richness of the compositions will accompany the audience on a musical journey capable of restoring Christmas to its most authentic meaning: an anticipation that becomes beauty and a light that is revealed.
An opportunity to pause, let the music wash over you and experience the magic of Christmas in a timeless setting.
