The Corsa dei 5 Laghi is a 24.5km competitive ecotrail with about 440m of elevation gain, run on a mixed surface of asphalt, dirt, woodland paths, and porphyry.
Founded in Ivrea in 1977, the race crosses the glacially formed Morainic Amphitheatre -an area of extraordinary natural beauty - and over the years it has combined a challenging yet accessible sporting format while enhancing the scenic appeal of the morainic hills north of the city.
