‘Recitatives, from the Illuminated Factory’ is the title with which Contemporary Cello Week concludes on 3 November in Ivrea, at the Archivio Storico Olivetti.
The programme is studded with pieces for solo instrument inspired by literary, social and philosophical texts: the instrument must ‘speak’, ‘express itself’, ‘whisper’.
Famous pieces for solo cello, from J. S. Bach to Luciano Berio, dialogue with new scores, created for the occasion: highly symbolic is the context that hosts the concert, namely one of the historic spaces linked to the project of the visionary industrialist from Ivrea Adriano Olivetti.
