The Festival of Lights is one of the most eagerly awaited and popular events of the winter, a renowned Christmas event in Piedmont: Giaveno is transformed into an evocative and magical village, with lights embellishing not only the historic centre but also the churches in the hamlets and Marchini Park with architectural projections.
The projections have been completely renewed for the historic centre with new video mappings on the theme of Christmas letters on the Collegiate Church of San Lorenzo and the buildings in the square, as well as all around the Torre degli Orologi. In the municipal park, in addition to the return of Frondo, the talking tree, and Mascherone Borbottone, there is a new feature: a talking book that tells funny stories for the little ones, placed in front of the Venus fountain.
The programme of events includes gospel music, photo opportunities, an ice rink, meetings with Father Christmas under the Christmas tree for school children and many other surprises that will fill the town centre with warmth and joy. There will be markets (Sunday 14th and Sunday 21st), with a wide selection of Christmas gifts, as well as a closing party on 6th January with the Befana del Pompiere, i.e. the descent of the Befana from the Torre degli Orologi.
