Gabriele Basilico: paesaggio industriale Olivetti

The P. A. Garda Civic Museum and the Olivetti Historical Archive Association, in collaboration with the Gabriele Basilico Archive, will open the exhibition ‘Gabriele Basilico: Olivetti’s Industrial Landscape’ on 5 November at 6.00 pm.

The exhibition stems from a project involving the cataloguing, analysis and selection of all the documents (photographic materials) held in the archives and libraries of the Olivetti Historical Archive Association in Ivrea that relate to the collaboration between the Milanese photographer Gabriele Basilico (1944–2013) and the Olivetti company. The research has identified a substantial body of documentation comprising between 1,400 and 1,500 items: vintage prints, slides and colour photographs, contact sheets, publications, articles, internal publications and supporting documentation for the photographer’s photo shoots; these are widely distributed and form part of some of the Olivetti Company’s archival collections.
