The aim of the initiative is the prevention and detection of blood pressure values of mountaineers and hikers in mountain huts.
Arterial hypertension, known as “the silent killer” due to its asymptomaticity, is still the main risk factor for cardiovascular diseases worldwide and affects around 40% of the Western adult population.
To prevent the occurrence of cardiac and cerebral events, which are often fatal or disabling, we must therefore pay more attention to the behaviour of blood pressure in various conditions of our daily lives.
