A major anthological exhibition dedicated to Guglielmo Meltzeid, a painter and sculptor who, over a career spanning more than sixty years, has been able to narrate the world through narrative, intense and luminous painting. In the rooms of the castle, between history and contemporaneity, an itinerary takes shape that retraces Meltzeid's main artistic seasons: from his first experiences in Paris in the 1960s, through exhibitions in New York, Tokyo and Venice, to his most recent works.
The exhibition is divided into two complementary sections: the temporary exhibition hall hosts the large paintings, characterised by a liquid and refined sign, while the more intimate Sala del Camino houses the graphic works on paper, where technical research meets the immediacy of the stroke.
Meltzeid's works speak of faces, landscapes, details of objects and vintage cars, transformed into images suspended in time. His style, defined by many critics as poetic realism, does not seek photographic perfection, but captures emotions, memories and fragments of life. Each canvas thus becomes a story to be observed and listened to, a tale that invites the viewer to stop and allow himself to be traversed.
Special events are planned during the exhibition period: guided tours with the artist, a public meeting in September and educational activities dedicated to schools, to bring the new generations closer to the language of art.
