Circular Plastic is one of the largest plants in Italy dedicated to the mechanical sorting of plastics of different types, from bottles to large packaging.
The plant, owned by Amiat Gruppo Iren and located in Borgaro Torinese, north of Turin, uses the most modern technologies in the sector and has a treatment capacity of about 100 tonnes of plastic waste per year.
Up to 17 types of polymers and plastics are sorted by 22 optical readers, located on more than 130 conveyor belts, which, once sorted, are then delivered to authorised consortia for recycling.
A visit to Circular Plastic will give an insight into the workings of the plant itself.
After the incoming material processing area and the loading of the bag tearing machine, you will proceed to the sorting cabin and the rotary screen.
Then it will be possible to see the work of the optical readers located on the conveyor belts and finally the storage areas.
