An itinerary of history, a highway traveled in the past by thousands of faithful but also by merchants, armies, emperors, politicians and men of culture who created a channel of exchange and communication that led to the substantial unity of European culture between the 10th and 13th centuries.
We will travel a beautiful stretch of the Via Francigena Morenico-Canavesana, passing through the Ivrea Morainic Amphitheater - a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2018 - created by the retreat of the Balteo Glacier, one of the best-preserved geological conformations of glacial origin in the world, dotted with lakes and characterized by the long profile of the Serra, a 25-kilometer moraine ridge, the longest in Europe.
Departure from the Ivrea Tourist Office, Piazza Ottinetti at 9 a.m. and you will admire: the Cathedral of Santa Maria with the Crypt, the striking Lake of Campagna of glacial origin and the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Bollengo, where the tour will end.
Route: Ivrea-Cascinette d'Ivrea-Burolo end of the tour Bollengo, where a free shuttle bus will be waiting for us to take us back to the starting point.
Comfortable clothing, hat, energy and water bottle are recommended.
The tour is accompanied by a professional tour guide in Italian and an LIS (Italian Sign Language) interpreter.
