For everything there is a time, a time for every matter under heaven. There is a time to know and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to weed - Qoelet [3:18-8].
The reference is to Ecclesiastes (in Hebrew Qoelet), in which a reflection on the transience of life and the vanity of man's works is proposed. The artist's research, deeply rooted in Jewish culture, moves from the awareness that in nature nothing lasts and that everything has its own time.
A few dozen small paintings, mostly monochrome, representing fruit taken precisely from Garnier Valletti's reproductions, are displayed in the museum's showcases as if to double the image and establish an imaginary dialogue with the museum collection.
Jessica Noy Laufer, born in Haifa (Israel) in 1990, has spent most of her life in Verona, where she cultivates her interest in visual art. In 2022, she founded her studio Sababa Atelier, an art and curatorial project with the aim of creating a cultural centre.
