Starting with the recent discovery of medieval decorations and their imminent restoration, the initiative aims to offer citizens a unique opportunity to participate first-hand in the care of a cultural asset, to stimulate a sense of belonging and shared responsibility, and to raise awareness of the importance of conservation and maintenance of the artistic and architectural heritage.
The initiative includes three thematic meetings, each dedicated to a key aspect of the maintenance of the Orsini Castle:
- 8 March: We found a key. Traces found. An exploratory experience guided by ‘Signor Tempo’, an expert who will recount the transformations of the castle over the centuries: participants will gather clues and discover how the castle has changed over time
- 12 April: Meet the restorer. The Castle comes to life. An opportunity to learn first-hand how a restorer works and the challenges of preserving cultural heritage
- 10 May: I also protect my Castle! Interactive workshop dedicated to the maintenance of the Castle and its park: with the support of experts, participants will explore the site by identifying signs of deterioration, ‘take’ photographs of the state of conservation, and imagine possible maintenance solutions.
At the end of the first round and before the start of the second, a snack will be offered to all children participating in the activity.
