In a faraway kingdom, a princess loses her golden ball in a pond and a frog offers to retrieve it, on condition that he can go to the castle with the girl, sleep in her bed, eat from her plate, and receive a kiss.
The princess, disgusted at the idea of being near a toad, reluctantly agrees, but little by little she discovers that she has many things in common with the frog, including a love of reading.
