On the occasion of International Women's Rights Day, the event Il Tram al Femminile will take place on board a historic car.
Built in 1935 and coming from Rome, the tram 312 restored by ATTS will travel the streets of Turin accompanied by the testimonies of the authors Marinella Dela Rosa (Philippines), Sayaka Miyamoto (Japan) and Maral Shams (Iran) - winners of the 19th edition of the national literary competition Lingua Madre - from the reading of their stories.
Like the first female tram workers, they are women who pursue the right to live fully as women: what unites them is their view of the world. The driving force may be their commitment at work, food, art, an encounter, language. Migration - like other discriminations by dominant narratives - is not something that defines them, but a novel approach to complexity.
