The exhibition presents emblematic female figures through the lens of the Royal Museums' numismatic collections, which consist of approximately 60,000 coins, medals, and seals, a third of which feature women's faces.
An imaginative journey through great female figures from antiquity and the modern age—including Cleopatra VII, Messalina, Julia Domna, Galla Placidia, Beatrice of Portugal, Catherine of Russia—all the way up to Margherita of Savoy.
The Royal Medal Cabinet features a collection of medals and coins, while the website of the Royal Museums of Turin offers a virtual tour with numerous in-depth details, links to other works in the museum collections, and content created by the Museum of Savings.
