Lapocalisse

The apocalypse is imminent.

The apocalypse is drawing near.

The apocalypse is inevitable.

But are we really sure? Is there really not a glimmer of hope? The slightest opening for possible intervention to avert a fate that seems inescapable? And if so, under what conditions? Over what obstacles? Is there still time to change course? But then, above all, do we really want to change this course?

From science to its opposite, from algorithms to everyday habits, from politics to progress and the inertia that holds it back, Valerio Aprea takes to the stage with a series of monologues written for him by Marco Dambrosio, known as Makkox, in a hyperbolic solo performance centred on the concept of change – necessary to confront the darkness that threatens us – where comedy and the absurd become sharp tools to face and attempt to avert the great spectre of the apocalypse.

This show emerged from the collaboration between the actor and the illustrator on the programme *Propaganda live* on La7; it incorporates some of the most significant monologues from that experience into a broader discourse addressed directly to the audience, who are repeatedly drawn into what can be described as a one-man show halfway between a recital and a stand-up routine.
