What is infinity, and how can it be recounted, from beginning to end, in a single story?
At Wimbledon, in June 2010, Isner and Mahut played the longest tennis match in history, a match that lasted three days. Another young man, Giacomo Leopardi, almost the same age as those two tennis players, ventures onto the terrain of infinity, his gaze stumbling upon a hedge.
The two stories are parallel lines, very distant, incomparable and destined never to meet except at a single point: infinity. This is the story of that encounter.
In a narrative-spectacle woven from coincidences, allusions and the finest literature, but also featuring forehands, backhands and aces at 230 km per hour, Alessandro Barbaglia explores Leopardi’s *Infinito* by bringing to life the tennis match that was never meant to end – the infinite match.
A human and poetic ode to the temptation of infinity.
