Have you ever tried using the tools people used in prehistoric times? Do you know how to light a fire by rubbing sticks together? Have you ever held an axe with a green stone blade? Do you know how they made pots and decorations?
Every Sunday, until the end of November, you can do just that with us: you’ll be able to try your hand at and touch reconstructions from the past!
The Vaie Prehistory Museum and Workshop will take you on an enjoyable journey through the woods and the museum, allowing you to immerse yourself in experimental archaeology, prehistory, nature and the artefacts found in the local area.
We look forward to welcoming you on this 3-hour trail to discover:
- the Rumiano rock-shelter
- lots of interesting plants, a mule track and a pond
- the Museum-Workshop with experimental reproductions of objects used by early humans
- the tactile collection to understand how artefacts were made (pottery, weapons, weaving tools…)
- artefacts made of green stone and pottery
- the exhibition of artefacts found at Vaie
In the event of rain, we’ll still be there for you: the walk through the woods will be replaced by an engaging hands-on workshop suitable for adults and children alike.
