This cycling event will allow you to discover the beauty of the Piedmontese Po Park, which crosses the UNESCO MAB CollinaPo reserve.
The meeting point is on Saturday 20th at 8:00 am at Le Vallere Park, where breakfast will be provided. Departure is at 9:00 am for everyone.
There are three flat routes:
For families (30 km). The route, which is easy for everyone and guided by Uisp cycling technicians and park rangers, will take you to San Mauro Torinese, where you can discover the flora and fauna on the banks of the great river as well as the life of the wolves that inhabit the Turin hills. There will be a stop for lunch at Castelletto di San Mauro, a branch of the UNESCO MAB Collina Po Reserve; return to Vallere at approximately 4:00 p.m.
For lovers of unsupported cycling (120 km). A gravel route to be cycled in one go, valid as an ARI (Associazione Randonneur Italia) certificate. The route winds along the right bank with sections that follow the VenTo cycle path, Eurovelo8 and sections of the Via Francigena to Cascina Ressia, the visitor centre of the Piedmontese Po Park in Crescentino (Vc): this will be the checkpoint and turning point, and there will be the opportunity to have lunch at a special price.
For those who want to get away for two days. Departure is on Saturday 20th and return on Sunday 21st, exploring the UNESCO MAB Territories in the company of park rangers, who will share anecdotes and help you discover the animals and plants of the Park. After breakfast, we set off for Cascina Ressia (lunch stop); a halfway point with a stop at Grangia di Pobietto, home of the Piedmontese Po Park and FAI site, and arrival at the Bosco della Partecipanza di Trino Vercellese in the year of its 750th anniversary, with a traditional dinner and overnight stay. On Sunday, departure at 9:00 a.m., refreshment stop in Chivasso along the river and return to Vallere.
