On Sunday, 14 December, Carmagnola will host the 33rd Piedmontese and Giora Cattle Fair, together with the 16th Long Sweet Leek Market Exhibition, two events dedicated to the region's agricultural and gastronomic excellence.
The fair will feature an exhibition of Piedmontese cattle, evaluations by the jury and awards for the top three in each category, with the presentation of the traditional satin saddlecloth.
Throughout the day, the public will be able to visit the exhibition of agricultural machinery and equipment for the livestock and cereal sectors, the Farm in town small animal market exhibition, the hobbyists' market in Viale Garibaldi, the Mercantico in Corso Matteotti and the special Christmas street market in Via Valobra.
Another star attraction will be the Long Sweet Leek of Carmagnola, recognised as a Traditional Agri-Food Product of the Piemonte Region, with free tastings of Giora cotechino sausage sandwiches.
At 11am, at the Scarpata Tower, the inauguration of the Antenna MAB UNESCO CollinaPo is scheduled, dedicated to the Biosphere Reserve recognised by UNESCO as part of the Man and the Biosphere programme.
The calendar continues on Wednesday 17 with the traditional Piedmontese cattle auction, accompanied by free tastings.
