Torino is once again transformed into an extraordinary book feast: 2km of bookshops along the arcades of the city centre, from Piazza Castello to Porta Nuova, and over 120 events dedicated to reading, featuring 70 Torino bookshops (independent, chain and second-hand), 50 publishing houses and 66 exhibitors from the Libro ritrovato, spread across sixteen themed areas, ranging from fiction to comics, from crime novels to poetry, from travel to local history.
This 19th edition is dedicated to the Nobel Laureate Dario Fo on the centenary of his birth and the tenth anniversary of his death, featuring a discussion between his son Jacopo Fo, the actor Matthias Martelli and the journalist Sergio Ariotti.
Special guests include, amongst others, the Malaysian writer Tash Aw (shortlisted for the 2025 Booker Prize), Claudia Durastanti, Chiara Gamberale, Nicola Lagioia (2015 Strega Prize winner), Francesca Giannone, Diego De Silva, Enrica Tesio, the singer-songwriter Ermal Meta and the activist rapper Francesco “Kento” Carlo.
A space dedicated to children will be Mini Portici in Piazza San Carlo, featuring workshops, animated readings and events organised by Terre di Mezzo, the guest children’s publisher alongside La Nave di Teseo. On Monday 12, as part of Portici a scuola, the authors will also meet pupils from Torino.
A weekend that confirms Portici di Carta as one of Italia’s most beloved literary events: culture, community and the city itself becoming a page to leaf through.
