On the occasion of the 28th CinemAmbiente Festival, the Regional Museum of Natural Sciences is hosting a dialogue on the reintroduction of various animal species into their natural habitats, in order to prevent their extinction and protect biodiversity, and is screening the film The Shepherd and the Bear by Max Keegan.
Many of the attitudes we have developed towards these animals are emotional, but we must also question the effectiveness of information regarding the factors that led to their reintroduction, its appropriateness and the resulting benefits for the balance of ecosystems.
These are all fundamental elements for achieving true coexistence between humans and predators, which, in most cases, are extremely shy and avoid humans, their worst enemy for thousands of years.
