The Barber of Seville appeared in 1816 at Rome’s Teatro Argentina with a colossal fiasco. How is this possible? It is Olympe Pelissièr, Rossini’s second wife, who tells us anecdotes and behind the scenes of the opera and the composer: the long wait to be officially recognised as ‘wife’, Rossini’s obsessions and addictions to food... All this is intertwined with the characters of the most famous opera in the world... with a surprise ending! Performance written and narrated by Lucia Margherita Marino.
