Culture & Tradition

Presentation of the book *Le Valli di Lanzo verso la liberazione. Missioni e corvée attraverso le Alpi 1944-1945* (The Lanzo Valleys on the Road to Liberation: Missions and Forced Labour Across the Alps 1944–1945), edited by Franco Brunetta, Gianni Castagneri, Monica Data, Silvia Marchisio, Ezio Sesia, Furio Sguayzer and Marco Sguayzer.

The event forms part of the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic, offering a profound reflection on the historical and civic roots of our country.

The events in the Lanzo Valleys have, in fact, become a symbol of a crucial turning point: amidst impassable paths, sacrifice and courage, the process of liberation took shape that would lead to the birth of republican democracy.

The book does not merely reconstruct the events of the Liberation, but explores the human and moral fabric of the Resistance, giving a voice to those who contributed, often in the shadows, to imagining and building a new Italy.

An opportunity to rediscover a fundamental chapter in local and national history, and to reaffirm the value of memory as the foundation of citizenship.
