As part of the Salone Off 2025, an appointment with Martina Terzoli, curator of the Egyptian Museum. Curator Federico Poole introduces.
Between the 19th and 20th century, numerous objects became part of museum collections through the antiquities market. Over time, however, doubts emerged as to their actual authenticity: recent research at the Egyptian Museum has examined a group of stone amulets, hitherto thought to be authentic, revealing recurring stylistic elements that suggest their production by a modern forger. The study reveals a formal coherence that allows the objects to be attributed to the hand of a single author, whose identity remains unknown to this day.
