AThrough a network linking the municipalities of Avigliana, Bussoleno, Condove, Giaveno, Susa and S. Antonino di Susa, the festival aims to be an open space for people to come together and reflect, for the whole community. Guided by the international principle “Nothing about us without us”, the event promotes a culture of genuine accessibility, developing its activities directly in collaboration with families, associations, co-operatives and people with disabilities in the local area.
A rich programme featuring a wide range of expressive and artistic forms designed to stimulate social change and shift perspectives on concepts such as ‘normality’ and ‘diversity’:
• Theatre and Performing Arts: Performances arising from theatre workshops open to people of all abilities; shows with a strong social impact that address historical memory and current affairs; and the Ape Ridens national cabaret competition.
• Cinema and Screenings: Meetings with directors, arthouse film screenings and audio tours that bring everyday life to life and inspire cinematic storytelling about the local area. • Meetings, Debates and Co-design: Round-table discussions focusing on the relationship between life, work, services and the local area, as well as talks with activists and representatives of movements for the rights of people with disabilities.
• Training and Independence: Projects and courses focusing on communication and the organisation of work placements, designed to promote greater independence and a meaningful life experience for the young people involved.
Socialità in Festival is a community alliance supported by a vast network of social partners, foundations and third-sector organisations, united to break down cultural barriers and promote the value of diversity.
