The MAO Museum of Oriental Art presents *Song Dong. Soul Out*, the first solo exhibition in Italy dedicated to the artist Song Dong (Beijing, 1966). The exhibition encompasses the entire museum, transforming it into a narrative space in which Song Dong’s works engage in dialogue with the permanent collections and the historic architecture of Palazzo Mazzonis.

Bringing together some of the artist’s most iconic installations, alongside an archive of photographs and videos of performances created from the 1990s to the present day, the exhibition traces over thirty years of his work, highlighting a practice that weaves together individual experience and collective history, private memory and social transformations, whilst offering a glimpse into contemporary China.
