We will be joined by Riccardo Cenedella and Maddalena Selvini, two designers who use research into materials as a starting point for their projects.
Riccardo explores the possibilities of transforming waste and underutilised materials into pieces of furniture, allowing experimentation and the creative process to dictate their forms and functions. Maddalena investigates the properties of materials and manufacturing techniques, combining field research with studio practice to bring objects, spaces and experiences to life.
Over lunch (a vegetarian meal provided!), we’ll delve into their design processes, from encountering a material to studio trials, from engaging with traditional craftsmanship to the choices that define an object.
