The Circolo del Design is hosting an event as part of To[wards]ListenTo, a programme organised by SMET – the School of Electronic Music at the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatoire in Turin – dedicated to contemporary sound practices.
The evening brings together two performances that focus on listening, experimentation and the collaborative work of the Conservatoire’s students.
• SET 01 - Archetypal Resonance. This piece arises from the encounter between electroacoustic composition and archetypal imagery. The score does not use traditional musical notation but is based on graphic symbols inspired by the twelve archetypes of Jungian theory. These symbols guide the sound without specifying precise actions, leaving the performers room for listening and interpretation. The result is a performance in which sound develops through the dialogue between the musicians and the electronic dimension. The performance is conceived and directed by Domenico Sciajno and realised with the electroacoustic ensemble of students from the Composition Techniques 1 module.
• SET 02 - Techniques of electroacoustic musical improvisation. Final presentation of the course for students in the two-year Electronic Music programme, which involves the development of compositional and improvisational projects using real-time electroacoustic and computer systems, with particular attention to the interaction between instruments, electronic devices and collective listening.
