‘Human nature is prone to greed,’ wrote Tacitus almost two thousand years ago. Greedy, hungry, never satisfied: for time, things, relationships, power, meaning. Always.
Voracity. Natura hominum avidior est is a show that blends theatre, dance, live illustration, philosophy and literature.
The large park of Villa Lascaris is transformed into a natural stage for an original narrative written and performed by Silvia Mercuriati, accompanied by choreography by Paola Colonna with Ida Talamo's dancers. The actors and actresses of Progetto Zoran are an integral part of the scene: silent figures moving in the greenery.
The story is also accompanied by live illustrations by debut artist Tommaso Donati, who will translate emotions and concepts in real time, before the eyes of the audience.
In the final part, Marco Fracon, director of Villa Lascaris, will offer an in-depth analysis of data, reflections and literature: from the consumption of natural resources to the perception of possession, from eating disorders to the visions of authors such as Carroll, Brontë, Han Kang, London, Salgado and Wallace.
At the end, there will be light refreshments for participants, with a view of the Sacra di San Michele at sunset.
