Colle Braida, in the municipality of Valgioie, is hosting a day dedicated to sport, solidarity and the promotion of safety with the 1st Giaveno-Colle Braida Short Trail and the Free-Pace Walk organised by the Matilde Lorenzi Foundation.
The initiative has been launched with a twofold aim: to bring together athletes, families and sports enthusiasts, and to raise funds in support of the Matilde Lorenzi Foundation and the Matildina4Safety project, which is dedicated to promoting a culture of prevention and safety in sport.
The morning begins with the Giaveno-Colle Braida Short Trail, a regional FIDAL competitive race covering 8.5 km with 530 m of elevation gain. Participants are to meet at 8.30 am at the Antonio Torta Stadium in Giaveno, with the race starting at 10.00 am.
At 11.00 am, the Free-Pace Walk will set off from Colle Braida. It is open to everyone and designed to bring the community together for a day of socialising and sport: your four-legged friend can take part too, thanks to Lactea Dog.
Colle Braida, where the Lorenzi family lives, marks the point where the Val Sangone and the Susa Valley meet and is situated just a short walk from the Sacra di San Michele, offering a natural setting that lends even greater significance to the initiative’s message.
The day will conclude with the prize-giving ceremony, appearances by sporting champions, musical entertainment and lunch.
One step at a time, towards a safer sport.
