About half the territory, which includes the Orco and Soana valleys and their respective rivers, and which extends to the eastern side of the Alpi Graie, is included in the Gran Paradiso National Park, Italy's first.
The two valleys diverge at Pont Canavese, the most important town together with Cuorgnè and then, rising towards the highest peaks of Turin's province, they cross lush woods, meadows, mountain pastures and many characteristic mountain villages such as Ceresole Reale and Ronco Canavese.
