Casa Aschieri, in Via Walter Fontan, was built between the 11th and 12th centuries and its wooden structure, wall texture, room layout, height development and terraced layout with porticoes below make it a typical example of Valsusine dwellings of the period.
Casa Aschieri overlooked the important Via Francigena and was probably originally a single-family house with the workshop and warehouse on the ground floor and the living quarters on the upper floors. Today it is owned by the municipality, which has carried out extensive conservative restoration work to completely restore it and use it as an exhibition and museum space.
