The Jewish ghetto of Chieri is a group of dwellings in Via della Pace, known in the city as ’l su dij Breu’, a narrow alleyway leading up from Via Vittorio Emanuele II towards the church of San Vincenzo or della Pace. The origins of the Chieri Jewish community date back to 1580, when Abram Serge was granted permission to set up the synagogue. It is a complex of medieval buildings, formerly belonging to the Solaro and Villa families, corresponding to house numbers 6, 8 and 10.
