The gardens were established in 1729 at the request of Victor Amadeus II of Savoy in order to illustrate the flora, its uses and origins.
The visit includes a narrative of the garden’s history and an examination of the family’s flower-beds for edible, ornamental and medicinal plants, the themed collections and the Grove.
A tour for blind and visually-impaired persons is available.
Guided tours for individuals and non-organised groups are included in the entrance fee and take place on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays; duration about one hour. Entrance to the Garden for a walk on your own is, however, only permitted without a reservation during the period when the Garden is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays.
GROUPS: advance booking required by calling 3389581569.
