This "wild" hike traverses a stunning high-altitude area in the Upper Orco Valley. Not far from the road to the Nivolet Pass lies a watershed zone between Piedmont and the Aosta Valley—a labyrinth of rock formations sculpted by ice and time, softened by the presence of clear alpine lakes where the Park’s wildlife seeks quiet corners to spend the summer and raise their young. This hike requires the utmost respect and discretion to preserve the area's natural values and avoid disturbing its remote, timeless atmosphere. It is not a hike for everyone; while the physical exertion falls within the "moderate" range (an elevation gain of around 700m, spread across various ups and downs), the paths are often little more than faint traces. Hikers must be prepared to traverse steep, rocky terrain, grass, and scree slopes; a sure foot and a head for heights are essential. Meeting point: Ceresole Reale at 8:30 AM, or at the trailhead at 9:30 AM. You will be accompanied by an official guide from Gran Paradiso National Park.
Cost: €20 per person. Please book by September 24th by emailing ecoesplora019@gmail.com.
