Chiesa di Santa Maria

The church, located on an embankment overlooking the plains, is bordered by the remains of a city wall in medieval stone. The current building is the result of radical changes made in the ’700 and nell’’800; plant Romanic remains only a portion of the inside wall, which presents a fragment of the fifteenth century fresco depicting the Virgin and Santa Caterina. Integro in its Romanesque style is rather splendid local stone bell tower, whose origins can be placed at the end of the ’eleventh century. The body is divided into six floors, with a regular succession starting from the bottom of slits, single lancet, lancet windows and two trefoils orders all over the field, enclosed in campiture crowned by hanging arches. The capitals of the mullioned windows and triple lancet windows are supported by stone columns.
