Pecetto Torinese

Panorama Di Pecetto2

Founded in 1224, in the hills of Torino, a few kilometres from Torino, it is known as the town of cherries, the protagonist of initiatives and events such as the gastronomic walk among the cherry trees in bloom (April) and the Cherry Festival in June; the latter is an unmissable appointment to taste and buy the many varieties. The historic village stands on a hillock 400 m above sea level, in an isolated position with respect to the Eremo and Maddalena hills.

It is dominated by the parish church of Pecetto, dedicated to Santa Maria della Neve, built between 1730 and 1739 to a design by the architect Bernardo Antonio Vittone. Next to the parish church, there is a building worth visiting for its panoramic position, on the top of the hill, and above all for its surrounding park, Villa Sacro Cuore, formerly Villa Nigra, named after the famous secretary of Cavour, and then Villa Triulzi.
