Founded in 1875, the Stefano Tempia Academy is the oldest musical association in Piedmont and the first choral academy established in Italy. To celebrate its 150th anniversary, the 2025 Season program aims to pay tribute to the past while also embarking on a journey through the present and future of music. From tributes to Stefano Tempia, featuring performances of works preserved in the Tempia Collection at the Turin Conservatory and played for the first time in modern times, to performances that blend music with dance and live coding technology, as well as the fusion of chamber voices and ancient instruments—including rare and lesser-known ones. The program also explores the intersection of jazz and liturgy and the relationship between music and cinema, with a concert dedicated to the soundtracks of Peter Greenaway.
