For the Antiqua 2026 festival, the Accademia del Ricercare presents Instrumental Music at the European Courts of the Renaissance.

Programme:

• Giorgio Mainerio (1535–1582) – From the first “book of dances to be played with all manner of instruments”: Pass’e mezzo Moderno, La Lavandara Gagliarda, L’arboscello ballo Furlano, Tedesca, Ungaresca

• Johann Hieronymus Kapsberger (c. 1580–1651) – Instrumental music in concertante style: Entrata, Balletto, Gagliarda, Corrente

• Michael Praetorius (1571–1621) – From Terpsicor 1620: Gagliarde de la guerre, ballet des cocps, ballet des baccanales and Ballet des Martelotz

Performers: Luisa Busca, Manuel Staropoli, Carlo Gomiero and Gianfranco Saponaro on flutes; Linda Przybiernov, Eleonora Ghiringhelli, Virginia Ghiringhelli, Massimo Sartori on viols; Claudia Ferrero on virginal, Luca Casalegno on percussion.

The Antiqua 2026 concerts are accompanied by a small art exhibition organised by the La Voce dei Venti Association.
